Having extra payday through dividend investing and Aug 2019- Monthly Finance Update

It has been 7 months since I started this blog to keep track of my overall investment. One particular metric that I look at is the dividend/interest I received every month  Monthly dividend/interest.

I noticed my dividend and interest are paid on the 1st week , last week and in the middle of every month. It is great to know that I am having extra 3 payday beside my regular monthly salary 😃 . It comes like a clockwork that my brokerage and bank accounts are credited with extra income while I am probably sleeping.
Another perk to keep investing for passive income. 😁

August Dividend from SGX:

In Aug, I have rebalanced my portfolio to sell off some laggards to raise some cash so that I can take advantage of any market correction in the coming month. I sold off Backstone and Pitney Bowes(bond).for a cash values of USD12639 . Bought 60 share of BRPAP (USD1520) which is preferred of BPY reit and 800 share of AVVIY (USD 6900) . I am seeing many bargain price for LSE stocks and will start to plow back some of the cash back into LSE stock with Aviva as the first purchase. Aviva is a large UK insurance company with global operation and a 8.27% yield. It is financial stable with a credit rating of AA-. I believe it will survive Brexit.

For SGX, I have sold all my FEO as I feel this laggard is not a good fit for my portfolio. $15428 was raised and will be looking for opportunity to buy some reits for better yield.

With the rebalancing of my Aug portfolio, my projected annual yield from my investment portfolio is only slightly  above USD48K .

I am just wondering which platform you would recommend to purchase Reits and US bonds?

    1. Interactive broker for US bonds ..US reit has 30% WHT.. If local or HK reit, just use local brokerage account.

    1. You are doing great for your age.. It takes time to build up your capital ..it takes me >20 years to have the current portfolio and I started late. If you start early and with compounding , you will be on the right track.

    1. No WHT for my MLP as I have only invested in MLPs that are domiciled in UK/Bermuda /Monaco even though they are listed in US.
